(HealthDay News) -- Before you give your child any medication -- including one that's over-the-counter -- talk to the doctor, nurse or pharmacist who recommended it.
The American Academy of Family Physicians suggests you ask:
Why the medication is recommended, and what impact it might have on your child's symptoms. How much you should give, and how often. If there are any potential side effects. Any activities or foods that your child should avoid while taking the drug.-- Diana Kohnle
