(HealthDay News) -- Doctors call a scratch on your eye a "corneal abrasion."

It's important to see your doctor if you have any of these possible warning signs, provided by the American Academy of Family Physicians:

Pain in your eye. A gritty feeling, as if you had sand in your eye. Blurry vision. More tears than usual. Redness of the eye. Sensitivity to light.
